  • Students used AI last time (before Thanksgiving) to create a “disguised turkey”.
  • They need to login to Clever and click on Google Classroom.
  • This time students will create their own superhero that is an animal.
  • Example of what to put in the generate box is: “koala wearing a superhero costume with a cape and a mask”.

I suggest showing the slideshow in full screen mode. Click on the 3 dots in the lower left and then full screen.

Extra Prep

  1. Use this for any of the classes that are listed as “extra prep” on the schedule.
  2. Go to Art Hub for Kids and choose a drawing video that is appropriate for the grade level.
  3. Have students get a clipboard from up front, a blank paper from their supply bin at their table, and a pencil.
  4. Come back to the carpet.
  5. Play and pause video as needed for students to draw.
  6. Students raise their pencils when done with each step.
  7. When the drawing part is done, ask students for suggestions for other things they could add (horizon line/ground, background, other elements).
  8. When done, students return clipboards and go back to their desks to color with colored pencils or crayons.
  9. Markers are sometimes good for these, but I notice kids color more sloppily with them than crayons or colored pencils.

Remember that we were last looking at data, and revising our maps.
We also quickly read a book on habitats. Let’s re-read that book.

If it is easier to view, use this link instead of the embedded slides below.

Now let’s continue on to part of Lesson 5.

It is probably easier to see if you click this link instead of using the embedded slides below. It opens up larger and full screen.

Animal Live Cam Padlet

Follow this link to show the Animal Live Cam Padlet, or use the embedded one below.

Made with Padlet
  1. View several live cams using the link in SeeSaw.
  2. Pick one animal and draw a picture using pencil and colored pencil. Do the background.
  3. One page 2 in Seesaw, take a photo of your animal drawing.
  4. On page 3 use the microphone to record what you noticed and wondered about the animal.

When you are done with all other SeeSaw assignments, remember to click the green check to turn them in. THEN you can go to the Code.Org link and complete coding puzzles. Here is a link to the SeeSaw Code.org assignment. In SeeSaw, use the microphone tool to tell me about what you did during that time.
