Extra Prep
- Use this for any of the classes that are listed as “extra prep” on the schedule.
- Go to Art Hub for Kids and choose a drawing video that is appropriate for the grade level.
- Have students get a clipboard from up front, a blank paper from their supply bin at their table, and a pencil.
- Come back to the carpet.
- Play and pause video as needed for students to draw.
- Students raise their pencils when done with each step.
- When the drawing part is done, ask students for suggestions for other things they could add (horizon line/ground, background, other elements).
- When done, students return clipboards and go back to their desks to color with colored pencils or crayons.
- Markers are sometimes good for these, but I notice kids color more sloppily with them than crayons or colored pencils.
