Thinking about the Story

Explain This Page

Can you explain what the students are doing on this page from the book?

What is this student doing?

What different pets were featured in the story?

What different plans did they try to catch the pets?

Which pet is he trying to catch and why is this funny?

Our Class Pet Activity for today!

  1. Β Which pet are you going to try to catch?
  2. How can you safely catch this pet and bring it back to the classroom?
  3. Draw your plan.
  4. Label parts of your plan to help explain.
  5. Build a model of a pet trap with Legos.
  6. Clean up – please don’t mix in the plastic animals with the Legos!

Note from Mrs. Allard: if you spend the entire time on making the plan and NOT doing the Lego build, that is fine!

Remember, we want to capture the pet safely!
